Wladimir Putin war bekanntlich bis zum Mauerfall als KGB-Offizier in Dresden stationiert. In einem Interview sagte er anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages des Mauerfalls am Montag, dass er mit einer gewissen Nostalgie an seine Zeit in der DDR zurückdenkt.

Wladimir Putin denkt nach eigenen Worten mit einer gewissen Nostalgie an seine Zeit in der DDR: „Ich erinnere mich noch heute an die Wärme und Herzlichkeit (in Ostdeutschland)“, sagte Putin in einem vorab veröffentlichten Interview mit dem russischen Fernsehsender NTW, das am Sonntagabend ausgestrahlt werden sollte. Deutschland habe sich aber nach der Wiedervereinigung gut entwickelt, und die Beziehungen des Landes mit Russland stünden auf einer guten und neuen Basis, unterstrich der Ex-Kremlchef. „Insofern ist ein Gefühl der Nostalgie zweitrangig.“
