Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with Andrei Krainy, the head of the Federal Agency for Fishery, at his Novo-Ogaryovo residence outside Moscow. In a well timed manner, the agency prepared a new version of the Recreational Fishing Law within a week, including amendments that will cancel fees for this activity that is so popular with Russians.
Putin has chosen a new format of interaction with the people and his political rivals, and in doing so has calmed down the elites.

This week a regular meeting of the supervisory board of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) will take place at the Government House. At this meeting ASI directors will present their project – the Leaders Club – to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. It is aimed at helping business people conduct dialogues with top officials and promote their legislative initiatives. ASI General Director Andrei Nikitin told Izvestia that the club will allow business people from the regions to meet with ministers and governors.
The election headquarters of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has already launched its presidential campaign. Izvestia was told at the headquarters that Putin does not hold election events himself – instead, public and political figures have started touring the regions.
On Thursday evening Vladimir Putin attended a gala evening dedicated to Public Prosecutors Day in Russia (the public prosecutor's office celebrated its 290th anniversary yesterday) and congratulated them on their professional holiday.
The prime minister's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that Putin would not be taking part in election debates.
