Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expresses his condolences to the family of the prominent politician and diplomat Yuli Kvitsinsky on the occasion of his passing

The message of condolence reads, in part:

"Mr Kvitsinsky was a very talented diplomat who defended Russia's interests on the international stage with intelligence, professionalism and dedication throughout his life. He earned the respect of his foreign colleagues with his strong negotiating skills. Mr Kvitsinsky was a prominent political figure and public activist. During his time in the State Duma he worked to make Russia a stronger and more prosperous nation.
