Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends greetings to participants, organisers and guests of the international forum On the Role of Public Organisations in Forming the Eurasian Union

The message reads, in part:

"I welcome you to this major forum dedicated to Eurasian integration.

"I would like to note the importance of discussing this issue together with representatives of public organisations, business and cultural circles of our countries.

"The processes of reinstating and expanding traditional political, economic and humanitarian ties are gaining momentum and being filled with new content. The establishment of the Customs Union and Common Economic Space became a real breakthrough. This served as a graphic example of effective integration in the interests of millions of people and opened up additional opportunities for business, trade and the implementation of joint projects in all areas.

"Today, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have started preparing ground for the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union. I am confident that this large-scale and truly history-making initiative has a great future. It is open to all our partners and neighbours and is certain to receive broad public support.

"I hope that discussions during your forum will prove useful in the context of charting common approaches towards the subsequent development of integration cooperation."
