1984-1990: Mining engineer at the central laboratory of the Kara-Balta Ore Mining Combine
1990-1992: First deputy chairman of the Kara-Balta municipal executive committee, deputy head of Kara-Balta city administration.
1992-1993: Aide to the head of the Chuy Region state administration, executive director of the Kyrgyz-British Investment Company.
1994-1995: Director general of the Eridan financial and industrial corporation.
1995-2000: Deputy of the Zhogorku Kenesh legislative assembly, chairman of the Committee on Taxes, Tariffs and Duties.
2000-2005: Director general of the Eridan financial and industrial corporation.
March-October 2005: Acting Deputy Prime Minister for Economic and Investment Affairs.
2005-2007: First Deputy Prime Minister.
