Born May 6, 1969, in Lapusna, Hincesti District, Moldova.
Education
1990: Graduated from Cooperative College of Chisinau.
1994: Graduated from the University of Iaşi (Romania) with a degree in Law.
Experience
1994-1997: Director general of RoMold Trading SRL in Iaşi, Romania.
1997-1998: Chairman of the administrative council of the Dosoftei company.
1998-1999: Director general of the Department of Privatization and State Property Administration of the Moldovan Ministry of Economy and Reform.
March-November 1999: State minister in the Ion Sturza cabinet.
2000-2005: Deputy chairman of the Democratic Party of Moldova.
2005: Deputy of the Moldovan Parliament from the Democratic Party of Moldova.
2005-2007: Deputy chairman of the Commission on National Security, Defence and Public Policy.
September 2007: Left the Democratic Party of Moldova to lead the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova, which he established.
2009: Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party in parliament.
September 24, 2009: Elected Prime Minister of Moldova.
