AKORDA PRESIDENTIAL PALACE

The name ‘Ak Orda' originates from the Oriental name of the first centralised state in what is now Kazakhstan. Ak Orda (or the White Horde) was referred to in Russian chronicles as the Golden Horde.

The Kazakhs say that the Akorda Palace symbolises the revival and prosperity of sovereign Kazakhstan.

The Malachite Hall used for state and international negotiations is the most beautiful hall in the Akorda Palace.

The Akorda residence is the seat of the Kazakh President's administration.
