Born December 24, 1956 in Ulan Bator.

1978 - Graduated from the Faculty of Law at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Speaks Russian and English.

1978 - 1979 - The Executive Committee of the Khural of Ulan Bator's Nairamdal district, specialist.

1979 - 1983 - Served in the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces; The group of Soviet military advisors under the Mongolian General Staff, military interpreter.

1983 - 1987 - The Montsame News Agency, journalist, editor, editor-in-chief.

1987 - 1990 - The Mongolian State Committee for Information, Radio and Television, Deputy Head.

1990 - 1992 - The State Great Khural of Mongolia, member; the Standing Committee for State Development, Chairman.

1993 - 1996 - Lecturer; research work at the Management Academy in Mongolia and the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle (USA).

1994 - 1997 - The Institute for Strategic Studies under the Mongolian Defence Ministry, Deputy Director, Director.

October, 2007 - Elected MPRP Chairman at the 25th party congress. This congress also adopted a resolution to appoint the MPRP Chairman the Prime Minister ex officio.

November, 2007 - Prime Minister of Mongolia.

September 11, 2008 - Reappointed as Prime Minister of Mongolia.
