International Media Council

The International Media Council (IMC) was established by the World Economic Forum in 2006. The Council consists of the world's 100 most influential media figures, such as publishers, chief editors, columnists, commentators, anchors as well as bloggers and representatives of online and printed media.

The IMC strives for broader understanding of the global issues and prospects for mass media development with the purpose of creating a well-informed public opinion. The Council holds its meetings twice a year, with the Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in January and the Global Growth Companies Annual Meeting in the summer.

IMC members are selected by a Membership Committee on the basis of clear criteria and principles, with selection based on the qualities of the individuals and the organisations they represent.
