The International Business Council (IBC) was established by the World Economic Forum's Foundation Board in 2001 as an advisory body consisting of the 100 most influential CEOs from the world's largest transnational corporations operating in all industries. The Council members address urgent global business issues, developing practical solutions and providing intellectual stewardship to the Forum.
The IBC is governed by the Executive Committee, which elects the Council members based on clearly laid out criteria and taking into consideration the qualities of the businessmen and companies they represent.
The IBC holds its meetings twice a year, with the Forum Annual Meeting in Davos in January and the Summer Meeting in August.
