Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao sign a joint communiqué following the 16th regular meeting of the two countries’ heads of government

Prime Minister Putin and Premier Wen Jiabao were also present for the signing of a series of important documents:

• Protocol of the 15^th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission on Preparing for Regular Meetings of the Heads of Government;
• Memorandum of cooperation between the governments of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China in the sphere of economic modernisation;
• Protocol of the 12^th meeting of the Russian-Chinese Commission on Cultural Cooperation;
• Protocol amending the Agreement of the Governments of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on Tourism Cooperation of November 3, 1993;
• Memorandum of mutual understanding between the ministries of agriculture of the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation to strengthen cooperation in agriculture;
• Memorandum on cooperation in veterinary oversight between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China;
• Framework agreement between Russia’s Bank of Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank) and China Development Bank;

Memorandum of intent between the Bank of Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank), the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the China Investment Corporation to cooperate in establishing an investment fund.
