Mirco Cvetkovic, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia

Mirco Cvetkovic was born in Zajecar, Serbia on Aug. 16, 1950. He graduated from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Economics where he also received his DSc.

Cvetkovic worked at the Mining Institute in Belgrade and later at the Economics Institute. He developed his career as a consultant at the Mecon advisory firm.

In 1998-2001, Cvetkovic worked as an economic advisor at the Mining Institute.

In January 2001, he was appointed the deputy economy and privatisation minister of the Republic of Serbia.

From 2003 to 2004, he served as the director of the Privatisation Agency.

In 2005, Cvetkovic was the senior advisor of the Mecon advisory firm.

He served as the finance minister of the Republic of Serbia from May 2007 until July 2008.

On July 7, 2008, he was appointed the prime minister of the Republic of Serbia.

He became also the finance minister after the government's reorganisation in March 2011.

Cvetkovic has published a number of papers and articles on privatisation.

He speaks English.

He is married, with two children.
