National Assembly of Serbia

The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia is the country's supreme legislative and constitutional body. The assembly is an unicameral parliament of 250 deputies who are elected in free elections by secret ballot to four-year terms.

The last (pre-term) elections were held on May 11, 2008. Ten parliamentary groups representing 22 parties and one independent deputy form the assembly.

The Democratic Party and the Serbian Radical Party have the majority of seats – 64 and 57, respectively. The delegations function on a regular basis in ten international parliamentary institutes – PA OSCE, PA NATO, and PACE, among others.
