The first Russian European Innovation Forum is taking place in Lappeenranta (Finland) on May 25-27, 2010.

The Forum, sponsored by the city of Lappeenranta, Lappeenranta University of Technology and the European-Russian Innovation Partnership, is to be attended by over 700 participants, including politicians, business managers and innovation experts.

The key topics of discussion are:
• Industrial modernisation. Strengthening of partnerships in innovative industrial development.
• Commercialisation of Russian innovation. Tapping the potential of Russian innovation in cooperation between Russia and the EU.
• Energy efficiency. Cooperation aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the RF and the EU.

The Forum is taking place within the framework of the international project European-Russian Innovation Corridor (ERICO) whose aim is to promote cooperation between Russia and the EU in technical innovation emphasising interaction between St Petersburg and South Eastern Finland.
