

The current European Judo Championships is the official start of this year's events calendar. The competitions in individual and team events will be held in Vienna's Ferry Dusika Stadium.
Men's and women's individual competition events will take place on April 22-24.
On April 22, the men's competition in two weight divisions, 60 and 66 kg, and the women's competition in the divisions of 48, 52 and 57 kg will be held. On April 23, men will compete in the 73 and 81 kg weight divisions, and women - in the 63 and 70 kg divisions. On April 24, male athletes in the 90, 100 and +100 kg divisions and female athletes in the 78 and +78 kg divisions will compete. The team events for men and women will take place on April 25.
The Russian judo team will compete in each of the 14 weight divisions (7 divisions for men and 7 for women) in the individual events in Austria.
The Russian men's judo team includes Russia's Champions Sirazhudin Magomedov (81 kg) and Askhab Kostoyev (100 kg), bronze medalist of the 2010 World Cup Renat Saidov (+100 kg), prize winner of the European Junior Championships Batradz Kaytmazov (73 kg), prize winner of the European Youth Championships Musa Mogushkov (66 kg), gold medalist of the Universiade Dmitry Gerasimenko (90 kg) and prize winner of the Universiade Dmitry Sterkhov.
The leaders of the Russian judo team will also participate in the Austrian Championships; they will compete in the team events on April 25. The team is made up of European Champions Arsen Galstyan (66 kg) and Tagir Khaybulayev (+90 kg), prize winner of the European Championships Alim Gadanov (66 kg), bronze medalist of the World Championships Mansur Isayev (73 kg), European and World Champion Ivan Nifontov (81 kg), chosen by the European Judo Union as best judoka of the year in 2009, and World runner-up Kirill Denisov (90 kg).
In the women's competition, Russia will be represented by the following athletes: the 2009 European Champion Natalia Kuzyutina (52 kg), European runner-up Vera Koval (63 kg), medalist of the European absolute Championships Natalia Sokolova (+78 kg), Russia's Champions Lyudmila Bogdanova (48 kg), Yulia Ryzhova (57 kg), Olesya Ovseychuk (70 kg) and Flora Mkhitaryan (78 kg), joined by Russia's runners-up Natalia Kondratyeva and Anna Grebennikova (52 kg), winners of the European Youth Championships Anna Kharitonova (52 kg) and Marta Labazina (63 kg), European under-23 runner-up Margarita Gurtsiyeva (78 kg) and Russia's most decorated judo fighter, bronze medalist of the Athens Olympics, European Absolute Champion Tea Donguzashvili.
The head coach of the Russian men's judo team is Ezio Gamba; the Russian women's team is coached by Anatoly Rakhlin.
