1991: Graduated from the University of Cuenca with a degree as a general practice attorney. Completed postgraduate studies in international economic relations and political and social sciences.
2003-2004: Served in the department of industrialisation of the Ministry of Industry.
2005: Served as president of the Cuenca Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Oversaw the installation of natural gas supply networks throughout the city.
June 19, 2008: Appointed Minister of Industry and Productivity.
