Viktor Zimin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Khakassia

Born August 23, 1962.

1982: graduated from the Abakan Agricultural Technical School.

2007: graduated from Tomsk State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

Served in military in the Soviet Army's armoured combat forces.

1983: began his career at Irkutsk's Construction and Assembling Department.

1986: appointed chief engineer at the Construction and Assembly Department in Bogotol. Became chief of the Directorate eighteen months later.

1992: appointed deputy construction chief of the Abakan branch of the Krasnoyarsk Railway.
Supervised dozens of major construction projects in Khakassia, including the construction of three tunnels on the Abakan-Taishet railway.

2001: awarded with the Honoured Railwayman Badge for his contribution to construction of the Dzhebsky Tunnel.

2003: elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Khakassia.

December 2, 2007: elected to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Co-founder of Khakassia's regional branch of the United Russia party.

May 2008-present: secretary of the branch's political council.

January 15, 2009: took office as Prime Minister of the Republic of Khakassia.

Married with three daughters.
