Corporate Governance Company “Concern Tractor Plants”

Corporate Governance Company "Concern Tractor Plants" manages over 20 production facilities in nine Russian regions (the Altai, Krasnoyarsk, Volgograd, Vladimir, Kurgan and Lipetsk Regions, and the Chuvash, Karelia and Mordovia Republics), Denmark, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Serbia and Ukraine. The company's headquarters and main production facilities are located in Cheboksary.

Concern Tractor Plants has 30,141 employees with an average salary of 12,075 rubles and produces 22.9 billion rubles worth of merchandise each year.

Recent engineering policies, upgrades to its production technologies and 16 billion rubles of capital investment have allowed the company to offer 28 basic models and 40 modifications, thus updating more than a half of its lineup. Sales have doubled, reaching 37 billion rubles in 2008, and the company's growth rates exceed the industry's average by 100% to 200%. The company exported a total of 4.4 billion rubles worth of products in 2009, 200% more than in 2008, and has entered into over 40 highly competitive markets, among them India, Australia, South Korea, Iran, Qatar, Algeria, Syria, and Kuwait.

Concern Tractor Plants competes with foreign companies for a major position in the Russian market, producing over 20% of bulldozers and pipe layers sold in Russia, as well as 80% of crawler-type agricultural vehicles, 40% of wood processing vehicles, over 20% of small-size municipal and construction vehicles, and 14% of harvesters.

The company is in the midst of an intensive development to bring innovated products into the Russian market. All of the company's current projects will offer Russian alternatives to products that must currently be imported, including telescopic and excavator loaders and wheeled tree harvesters, 100% of which are currently imported, front loaders, 92% of which are imported, and compact wheeled tractors, 75% of which are imported.

Four of the company's production facilities in the Chuvash Republic are of social significance: Promtractor, the Cheboksary Machinery Parts Plant, Promtractor-Promlit in Cheboksary and Promtractor-Vagon in Kanash, which altogether employ 16,800 people.

The company's industrial engineering segment includes Promtractor, one of the largest manufacturers of heavy bulldozers and pipe-layers, and the Cheboksary Machinery Parts Plant, which manufactures spare parts for the undercarriages of industrial, agricultural and log-loading crawler-type vehicles, as well as tractor, harvester and automobile couplings.

Promtractor has 5,932 employees with an average salary of 9,128 roubles. The plant's sales totaled 3.07 billion rubles in 2009, which was 45% lower than in 2008.
