"New Generarion" Ice rink at "Spartak" sports centre

Construction on a covered skating rink in Cheboksary started in March 2009 as part of joint project by the New Generation Sports Charity Foundation and the Chuvash Republic cabinet of ministers. The 66 by 35 metre training ice rink will be built on the premises of the city's Spartak sports centre. The ice rink facility will also include a gym, training staff rooms, showers and locker rooms, a medical office and a cafe.

The New Generation Foundation funded the construction of the actual building, while in 2009 29.8 million roubles were provided from the Cheboksary municipal government's budget and 9 million roubles from the Chuvash Republic's budget for feasibility surveys, approval and inspection of the construction project, exterior utilities, and site improvements. The total cost of the project was 180 million rubles ($6 million, 4.2 million euros).

The New Generation Sports Charity Foundation was established in 2006 to promote sports and healthy living among children and young people. The foundation focuses on construction and renovation of sports venues, providing athletic equipment to schools, paying salaries for children's coaches, the Street Champion League game, the Happy Tour Show on the channel NTV, and advanced classes taught by famous athletes and coaches.
New Generation has already completed the construction of eight all-purpose sports centers for team sports, four covered ice rinks, eight football pitches with high-quality Tartan turf, fifty open-air multipurpose sports centers and four skateboard parks.
