The region's largest industries include machine-building, metals-processing, chemicals, textiles, and glass and food production.
Cultivated lands account for 38% of the region's territory. The Vladimir Region produces grains, industrial crops, fodder crops, potato and vegetables. Flax cultivation is a concentrated enterprise in the region. Horticulture is also a developed sector. Livestock breeding includes cattle, pigs, sheep and goats.
