Construction of railway terminal in Adler

There are plans to build a new railway terminal and a major intermodular transport hub in Adler in the run-up to the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

The terminal will comprise a bus station, will accommodate over 1,400 people and will simultaneously handle about 300 commuter train passengers.

The terminal will handle 54 pairs of long-distance and commuter trains per 24 hours.

A beltway will be built to link the terminal with a viaduct on Ulitsa Lenina and the coastal Ulitsa Prosveshchenia . The beltway and a pedestrian zone will also link the terminal with a local hotel, fitness centre and port terminal.

Ship passengers will have direct access to waterfront piers.

During the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, the Adler terminal will handle traffic to the Alpica-Service Mountain Resort, Vesyoloye village and Sochi airport, and will also act as a major transport hub on long-distance and commuter train routes.
