Procter & Gamble - Novomoskovsk was set up on June 19, 2006 on the basis of Novomoskovskbytkhim JSC formed through the privatisation of production association Novomoskovskbytkhim.
Since it opened its first office in Russia, P&G Russia has become one of the fastest developing subsidiaries of the US-based Procter & Gamble Company. It has a solid portfolio of over 70 P&G brands in Russia and has a leading market share in three-fourth of the products it manufactures, esp. detergents, shampoos and diapers.
Its first five-year programme, into which $50 million was invested, was completed in 1999.
Currently, the plant rolls off 10 brands and is Russia's largest producer of laundry detergents and cleaning products. It exports over 25% of its output.
Procter & Gamble - Novomoskovsk is part of P&G's laundry, cleaning and bleaching products division. Its focus is on detergents. In 2005, P&G opened the first line for the production of Pampers diapers at the plant, and the plant's second line for the production of Pampers diapers was commissioned in a new building opened in May 2008, which will have four such lines.
P&G directly employs 1,380 people at its Novomoskovsk plant, which earn an average of 28,480 roubles a month.
In May 2009, the company completed the retooling of its detergents plant, increasing its capacity to 700,000 metric tons annually.
The plant has high-yield equipment and an automatic quality control and regulation system. P&G has also carried out a number of environmental control projects to ensure a high level of purification of solid pollutants. Under its agreements, the company invests considerable funds in the expansion and modernisation of its plants and construction of new ones.
P&G is a co-investor in the project, titled Industrial Complex Novomoskovsk of the Tula Region, to develop the transport and engineering infrastructure of Novomoskovsk, and is also involved in its implementation.
