The Korocha District covers 1,417 square kilometres. The district has 146,400 hectares of land resources, including 117,900 hectares of cultivated land, of which 91,900 hectares are cropland.
Korocha is the district's largest city, located 53 kilometres from Belgorod. The population of the city is 6,000. The district's population is 38,900, rural residents accounting for 32,900.
Agriculture is the district's leading industry, in which 35% of the economically active population are employed. 16 agricultural enterprises work on 75,200 hectares of land.
Industrial production primarily comprises five businesses, including two processing companies.
In 2008, investments in the district's economy and social sphere accounted for 6.2 billion roubles, 1.9 times more than in 2007.
