Prime Minister Vladimir Putin showed journalists the new Niva car he bought about a month ago

This event took place near the entrance to the Prime Minister's Sochi residence, where his talks with the Prime Minister of Turkey will soon begin.

Mr Putin told journalists that he likes the camouflage-painted three-door Niva, even though he hasn't driven very far in it, a whole 300 metres. The car had only just been delivered to Sochi from Tolyatti today.

Three journalists, including a Turkish reporter, took the Niva for a test drive.

After driving around the residence's courtyard, one of the journalists said: "They've given the car good engine power for you."

"Not just for me, but for any customer", Mr Putin corrected him. "The car is sold like this, you can order one."

Having taken a drive in the car, the Turkish reporter couldn't believe it: "Is it really a Niva?" he asked before inquiring whether there are any plans to supply the cars to Turkey.

"It has considerably broad distribution worldwide. This car has the best sales out of everything on the VAZ factory production line. " the Prime Minister said.

As reported, Prime Minister Putin visited the AvtoVAZ factory in Tolyatti on 30 March. While talking with the factory workers, the Prime Minister was asked which car from the whole AvtoVAZ range he would choose for himself. He answered: "The Niva. I have one. I am finalising my order for it soon."
