DMITRY ZELENIN Governor of Tver Region

Born on November 27, 1962 in Moscow, he graduated in 1986 from the Moscow Physics and Technology Institute's Department of Management and Applied Mathematics. After graduation, he worked at the Aviation Systems Research Institute (NIIAS). While he was working there he completed his PhD dissertation.

1989: created the Microcard and Girvas cooperatives, which specialised in the software and supply of digital technology.

Since 1990: member of the board of directors of Mikrodin.
From 1990 to 1993: deputy head of inter-sector management at Resurs Bank.

From 1993 to 1995: deputy chairman of the board of the Russian shareholder trading bank RATO Bank.
1994: joined the board of directors of ZIL and Perm Motors.

From March to December 1995: president, board chairman of MKB Resurs Bank.

From January to September 1996: General Director of Interros.

From 1996 to 2000: first deputy general director of Norilsk Nickel.
From 2001-2002: first vice president and member of the governing board and council of directors for GMK Norilsk Nickel.

From October 2002 to December 2003: deputy chairman of the Russian State Committee for Physical Fitness and Sport.

2003: elected Governor of the Tver Region

Dmitry Zelenin is the President of the Russian Association of Managers, the most important union of business leaders in the country.

Married, with two daughters and two sons.
