Sergei Morozov, Governor and head of local government of Ulyanovsk Region

Born on September 6, 1959 in Ulyanovsk.
Graduated by correspondence from the All-Union Institute of Law with a degree in jurisprudence.
After secondary school, worked at a furniture factory as a machine operator.
1977-1980: served in the Pacific Fleet.
After the service, worked at the Ulyanovsk motor pool first as a fitter and then as a driver.
1981: joined the Interior bodies and worked his way through the ranks from a district criminal investigation inspector to head of the Ulyanovsk Region anti-drug squad.
1995: appointed head of the interior department in Dimitrovgrad.
December 200: elected Mayor of Dimitrovgrad.
December 2004: elected Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region.
March 20, 2006: President Vladimir Putin proposed him as candidate for Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region to the regional legislature.
March 28, 2006: confirmed as Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region.
Awarded the badges "For Excellent Record in Police Service" (1986), "For Excellent Service in the Interior Ministry" (1993), and the Medal "For Distinguished Service" 3rd Class (1989).
Married with two sons and two daughters.
