A 7000-seat sports and entertainment arena in Astrakhan

Construction has been underway since September 2006.
The complex was designed to blend into the existing architecture of the district and the city.
The plan includes the construction of the following buildings and facilities:

- a sports arena and concert hall seating 5,000 for sports events and 6,000 for concerts;

- a 50x25 m swimming-pool with seats for 1,000 spectators;

- a four-star hotel with 1,500 rooms;

- outdoor sport grounds (for football, handball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and gorodki);

- open-air car parks;

- reinforcement of the banks of the Kutum;

- a pedestrian bridge;

- reconstruction of N. Ostrovsky Street.

Multipurpose sports arena

The multipurpose sport arena has stationary bleachers facing the playing field for 5,000 spectators with an additional 1,000 seats able to be set up.

Sports equipment of all kinds meeting international standards has been provided by the Turkna firm.

A modular stage was designed for various cultural events with an area of about 300 square metres.

Swimming pool

The swimming pool with seats for 1,000 spectators is located in a separate building with its own entrance, lounge, cloakroom and bathrooms.

The swimming pool is 50 x 25 x 2.5 m (over the whole length), it has 20 lanes and 8 electronic scoreboards across the pool.

In accordance with the standards of international competitions, the pool has space for coaches, judges, commentator booths and a radio centre. There are also movable starting blocks in the pool and arrangements for filming competitive events under water.

The pool and the entire premises are equipped for training and competitions among the disabled.

Four-star hotel

This seven-storey hotel has 146 double rooms and 4 penthouse rooms.

Outside stairs, ramps with irregular configurations, support walls, parking lots and the beautification of the Kutum embankment that has been proposed will form a harmonious complex with easy access to the main street in the district.

The frame of the building, the roof and the utilities have been installed. The application of plaster and specialised work is underway.
