Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the Kochetovsky waterworks facility

During his visit, the Prime Minister was shown a mechanism for moving vessels through a canal lock.

At talks with the facility's personnel, Mr Putin mentioned a large-scale programme for developing domestic waterways being launched by the Government up to the year 2015. According to the Prime Minister, finances have been allocated for the programme up to 2010. "We will consider it (allocating the finances) up to 2015," Putin said.
