

Naberezhnye Chelny is located in northeastern Tatarstan, on the left bank of the Kama River. The city's population is 510,300.
Naberezhnye Chelny was founded in 1626 and experienced its rebirth in 1969, when the KAMAZ plant, manufacturing heavy duty trucks, was founded.
The city is currently one of the largest industrial, equipment-manufacturing and cultural centres of Tatarstan and the second largest city of republican subordination.
Among the city's municipal economies are machine-building, electrical power industry, construction and processing. There are over 2,000 industrial and construction companies in the city. The largest are KAMAZ, Kamgesenergostroi, SOLLERS-Naberezhnye Chelny, the Cardboard and Paper Mill, Nizhnekamsk HPP, Naberezhnye Chelny TPP and some construction companies.
The city is also a large centre of food and processing industries, represented by the companies Chelny-Khleb, Bulgarpivo, Chelny-Kholod, Chelny-Broiler, Akulchev, Vamin-Tatarstan and the Naberezhnye Chelny Dairy Plant.
