Tuleyev Aman-Geldy Moldagazyevich (Aman Gumirovich), Governor of the Kemerovo Region

Born on May 13, 1944 in Krasnovodsk, Turkmen SSR.
1961: Entered Tikhoretsk Railway Technical School, graduated with distinction. After the graduation he was sent to the Kemerovo Region where he worked as an assistant station-master.
1973: Graduated from Novosibirsk Institute of Rail Transport Engineers, majored in railway system engineering.
1973-1978: Station master at Mezhdurechensk railway station.
1978-1985: Deputy chief, subsequently chief of the Novokuznetsk Branch of Kemerovo Railway.
1985: Head of Transport and Communications Department of the Kemerovo Regional Committee of the Communist Party.
1988: Graduated from the Academy of Social Sciences. Appointed Head of Kemerovo Railway, one of the largest in the USSR.
1990: Member of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR for Gorno-Shorsky national-territorial district.
1990 (March): Chairman of the Kemerovo Regional Soviet of People's Deputies, Chairman of the Regionalal Executive Committee.
1996 (August 22)-1997 (June 30): Minister of the Russian Federation on cooperation with the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
1997 (July): Appointed Governor of the Kemerovo Region by a presidential decree.
1997 (October): Elected governor of the Kemerovo Region with 95% of the vote.
2001 (April): Re-elected governor of the Kemerovo Region with similar results: 93.5% of the vote.
2005 (April 20): President Putin extended Tuleyev's term as governor to 2010.
2010 (April 20): President Medvedev extended Tuleyev's term as governor to 2015.
Awarded the Order of Service to the Fatherland, 4th and 3rd class, Order of Honour and other orders.
