Uralvagonzavod has 12,000 young members of staff aged 35 and younger (nearly 40% of the total number of employees). Some 7,725 people are members of the plant's youth organisation.

The Uralvagonzavod Nizhny Tagil Social Youth Organisation became a legal entity on August 25, 2000. In 2001, it hosted the National Seminar for Topical Problems of Youth Politics. In 2003 and 2005, it hosted the regional and inter-regional exhibitions of research and technical creative works. Every 18 months, the organisation holds research and practice conferences for young professionals. In 2010 the conference "Automation. Innovation. Quality" was attended by over 300 young professionals of the mother company, corporation units, and the corporate university.

On August 31, 2011, the youth organization and the staff of Uralvagonzavod joined the Russian Popular Front.

The plant offers comprehensive support to the young members of staff who want to broaden their experience. The Professionalism programme holds 95 professional contests in 46 occupations. Seventy of them are organised within workshops while the other 25 are held across the plant. There is also a mentoring system.

Some of the social events are Mister and Miss Youth Organisation and Young Family contests, war song contests, intellectual game festivals and company parties. Some 15,000 people take part in the variety of events every year.

There are also sports events organised on the basis of the Sputnik sports centre and the sports club of the Russian Sports and Defence Technical Organisation. Some of the traditional competitions are a lapta competition (a Russian bat and ball game), streetball, chess, shooting and relay competitions. Youth tourism is one of the popular trends.

The Uralvagonzavod youth organisation is also engaged with the educational work in schools and pre-school facilities.
