A farm in the village of Bolshaya Lipovitsa run by the self-employed individual, Sergei Bocharov, was registered in March 2010. The farm joined the programme to develop pilot family dairy farms on the basis of the Tambov Region's farm holdings over a period of 2009 to 2011.
The regional authorities allocated 3.3 million roubles in government support for the construction of Bocharov's farm. The cost of the farm is estimated at 4.7 million roubles. The herd of dairy cows consists of 25 animals, which are handled by a dairymaid and a farmyard worker. Over the first nine months of 2010, the milk yield on the farm was 98,072 kilogrammes, with one dairy cow producing 3,920 kilogrammes. The average selling price of milk is 18 roubles. The rate of return is 27.5 %.
The farmer is currently engaged in the construction of a livestock farm and already bought 45 cows for meat and four breeding bulls.
