As of September 30, 2010, construction and assembly work is proceeding on 107 facilities, in full accordance with the overall project plan. Among facilities planned for commissioning in 2010, 16 are already completed, including six individual start-up complexes. A total of 34 facilities, including nine start-up complexes, are to be finished and commissioned before year end.
Construction of Olympic facilities
Out of a group comprising 13 sports facilities, nine are currently under construction, five of which are in the Imereti Lowland:
- Central stadium
- Large ice hockey arena
- Ice sports arena for figure skating and short-track competitions
- Small ice hockey arena
- Covered ice skating centre.
Construction has started on all infrastructure facilities of the Olympic Park.
Four facilities are located in the mountain cluster:
- Skiing and biathlon complex
- Roza-Khutor alpine resort
- Toboggan and bobsleigh track
- K-125 and K-95 ski jumps.
In October 2010, Olympstroy will start designing ski jumps that will be used for training.
Most of the Programme facilities will be under construction throughout 2010 and 2011, employing an estimated additional 52,000 employees.
One facility was commissioned in 2007 and six in 2009, including sections of three more facilities.
By the end of 2010, 50 facilities are scheduled to be commissioned either in full or partially.
