Jim Albaugh, Executive Vice President of The Boeing Company and President and Chief Executive Officer of Boeing Commercial Airplanes

 
 
 

Born in 1950 in Washington State.

Education

B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from Willamette University.
M.A. in Civil Engineering from Columbia University.

Experience

1975: joined The Boeing Company as a project chief engineer in Hanford.

Held the posts of President and CEO of Boeing subsidiaries: Boeing Integrated Defence, Space and Security and Boeing Space and Communications (now IDS).

2003: appointed to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.

2006: elected to the TRW Automotive board of directors; elected to the Aerospace Industries Association Board of Governors Executive Committee.

2007: elected to Willamette University Board of Trustees.

2008: appointed to the board of the National

Competitiveness Centre (an organisation helping Saudi Arabia compete more effectively in the global economy).

Since September 2009: Executive Vice President of The Boeing Company and President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes with responsibility for all of the company's commercial airplanes programmes. Member of the Boeing Executive Council.

Awards and Recognitions

Mr Albaugh, a Gold-and-Silver-Knight of the National Management Association, was named Executive of the Year by that organisation in 1999. He was honoured with Bob Hope Distinguished Citizen Award, Howard Hughes Memorial Award and received the International von Karman Wings Award. Board member of a variety of commercial and charitable organisations.
