The main objective of the forum is to provide an international venue for a discussion between Russian and international business community, academic circles and government agencies on issues concerning the modernisation and investment development of the Russian economy.
The Sochi-2010 forum is to focus on the improvement of the investment climate in the country, enhancement of economic competitiveness, development of Russian regions' investment attractiveness and investment projects as part of preparation for 2014 Winter Olympics.
Issues concerning construction industry development, business security, migration policy, improvement of tax administration and higher energy efficiency are also on the forum's agenda.
The forum's programme includes a full-scale meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Preparation and Organisation of the 2014 Sochi ХХII Winter Olympics and ХI Paralympic Winter Games and 2013 Kazan XXVII World Summer Student Games.
Among approximately 3,000 forum participants are representatives of 52 Russian regions and 32 countries, including four government delegations and 13 heads of diplomatic missions as well as leading Russian and global companies. The total area of the exhibition is 11,200 sq m. Over 1,200 journalists will cover the forum events.
