Sibur-Neftechim was established on Dec. 20, 1999 on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod Ethylene Factory as a subsidiary of the Siberian-Urals gas and petrochemical company (OAO AK Sibur).
Sibur-Neftechim comprises three plants forming a single technological complex:
- a petrochemical plant in the city of Kstovo;
- an ethylene oxide and glycol plant in the city of Dzerzhinsk;
- a caprolaktam plant in the city of Dzerzhinsk.
Sibur-Neftechim is a major producer of ethylene, propylene, benzol, ethylene oxide, ethylene glycol, cable plastics, chlorine, caustic soda and PVC tars.
Sibur-Neftechim's core activities are petrochemical and chemical product production and marketing. Production is divided into the following segments – production based on hydrocarbon processing, ethylene processing, and chlorine and ethylene.
Sibur-Neftechim supplies its products to the Nizhny Novgorod region, the domestic market, and the former Soviet Union territories and abroad. Its main customers are Finland, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the Baltic States, Germany, Poland, Turkey, Italy, the UK and the United States.
Its workforce is 4,132-strong, or 82.3% of the 2009 level. The average wage at the plant is 22,234 roubles, or 111.3% of the 2009 level.
