Town of Budyonnovsk, Stavropol Territory: A project for a petrochemical technology park and a new technological facility to manufacture polyethylene and polypropylene pipes for housing and utilities and natural gas transportation, polymeric films, packaging materials, and construction materials.
The project is financed by the LUKoil and the Stavrolen company.
From 1999 through 2009, the region implemented a complex modernisation programme to boost the efficiency of local production, with new propylene manufacturing facility opened in the territory.
The investment has reached 6 billion roubles while production volumes stand at 722,000 tons, with sales revenues amounting to 16.2 billion roubles. There are 2,607 people employed, with taxes of 2 billion roubles paid to the budget and the total investments worth 112 billion roubles.
This expansion in production has resulted in 1,500 new jobs.
Comprehensive development of the Chechen Republic: Under the federal targeted programme of restoring the Chechen Republic's economy and social sector for 2002 and beyond, a total of 41.54 billion roubles was allocated from the federal budget from 2002 through 2007. The federal targeted programme for the Chechen Republic's economy and social sector for 2008 through 2011 was developed in accordance with the Russian government's executive order No.1762-r of December 6, 2007. The total investments for the programme stand at 120.576 billion roubles, including 110.784 billion roubles allocated from the federal budget, 3.9 billion from the republic's budget and 5.887 billion roubles from non-budget sources.
The programme is expected to boost Chechnya's gross regional product up to 104.3 billion roubles in 2011. Next year, tax revenues into the republic's consolidated budget are estimated to increase by 110% compared with 2006. The subsidies into the local budget will be reduced by 25% compared to those in 2007, while non-budget investments in 2008 through 2011 are estimated at 5.887 billion roubles.
The programme will provide at least 95,000 new jobs, with industrial production volumes increasing two-fold by 2012.
City of Vladikavkaz, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania: The project for developing photo-electronic nanotechnologies is financed by the Baspik Vladikavkaz Technology Centre which was established in 1991 and employs 443 people.
The total investments for the project amount to 2.83 billion roubles, with a payoff period of 2 years. The project is expected to create at least 1,700 new jobs.
Republic of Ingushetia: The project for the comprehensive development of the republic.
Under the federal targeted programme for Ingushetia's social and economic development for 2010 through 2016, the federal government has allocated 27.385 billion roubles as capital investments, while 167.2 million roubles was allotted for research and development and 167.2 million roubles for other expenses.
The total amount of finances for programme activities in 2010 will go to the following major sectors:
- housing and utilities (287.2 million roubles);
- energy (301.5 million roubles);
- education (322.3 million roubles);
- agriculture and related industries (295 million roubles);
- industry (258 million roubles);
- healthcare and social services (194.2 million roubles).
The programme is expected to boost the local agricultural sector, increase production by local manufacturers, and secure favourable conditions for attracting investors. The project will also provide around 18,000 new jobs.
Buinaksky and Kumtorkalinsky districts, Republic of Dagestan: A project for a plant manufacturing gypsum cementing construction materials, with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons.
The plant will produce gypsum plasterboard, dry construction mixtures and gypsum partition blocks. The Daggips company is investing in the project and the total investments are estimated at 1.3 billion roubles.
Currently, the project is under consideration to be given priority status in accordance with Decree No. 33 of the President of the Republic of Dagestan of April 18, 2009 on approving the provision on the procedure and conditions for granting the priority status to a republican investment project.
The project will provide 84 new jobs.
Village of Oktyabrskoye, Maisky district, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic: A project for the construction of a plant manufacturing polyethylene terephthalate, or PET, for food and textile industries, with an annual capacity of 486,000 tons.
The Etana pure polymers manufacturing plant is investing in the project and the total investments are worth 9.85 billion roubles.
Polyethylene terephthalate is the most commonly used polymer material used for food containers and packaging, and so the plant is expected to facilitate development of the local food and light industries. The project will also increase the competitiveness of domestically manufactured products in both Russian and foreign markets.
The project will create about 1,500 jobs and has a payoff period of 3 years.
City of Cherkessk, Karachayevo-Circassian Republic: A project for a wool-manufacturing factory receiving investments from the Kvest-A company, which has been operational since 1999. The company manufactures and purchases products of the agriculture to further process and sell them to textile industry enterprises.
From 2007 through 2009, the project made a profit of 678 million roubles, including export revenue of 144 million roubles. The volume of products sold at the regional market stands at 8,000 tons of yarn annually, while the plant manufactures 2,000 tons of yarn per year, substituting 25% of the imports.
Total investments into the project amount to 830 million roubles. The factory employs 353 people.
