

The open joint-stock company Raspadskaya was established in 1973 and is currently one of Russia's largest coal producers. Evraz Group S.A., one of the world's largest metal producers, owns 40% of Raspadskaya.
Raspadskaya is the only coal production and enrichment company in the Kemerovo Region in western Siberia.
It has mining licenses for a large area southwest of the Tomuskinsky section of the Kuznetsk Coal Basin (Kuzbass), where 75% of Russia's coking coal is produced.

Raspadskaya, a mine with four faces commissioned in 1973, the group's largest mine and the largest underground mine in Russia. It mines about 8 million metric tons of gas-rich GZh-grade coal annually; its reserves are estimated at 451 million metric tons of coal. It produced 8.9 million tons of coal in 2007.
The MUK-96 Mine is a mine that operates with one face.
The Razrez Raspadsky, an open-pit mine, was the first in Russia to use longwall mining technology.
Raspadskaya-Koksovaya is being developed for underground production of hard coking coal (K and KO grades). Its total reserves amount to 152 million metric tons of coal.
The Raspadskaya Preparation Plant utilizes modern technology to process at least of 7.5 million metric tons of black coal annually.
The group also includes five transportation and production units and a marketing and management company.

Raspadskaya is a leading supplier of coal to Russia's largest steel producers, including the Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK), Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) and other companies of the Evraz Group.
Raspadskaya exports its products to Ukraine and eastern European countries (Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria) and is currently considering expansion to Asian-Pacific markets, notably Japan, South Korea and India.
Gennady Kozovoy has been the chief executive officer of Raspadskaya Coal Company since 2003.
