Novorossiysk remains the home of 8,944 veterans of World War II, including 1,118 disabled veterans and participants of the war, 2,330 local workers and 5,496 underage concentration camp survivors.

Twenty two veterans from World War II were granted financial assistance to purchase housing in accordance with the Presidential Decree No. 714 of May 7, 2008, "On providing veterans of World War II of 1941-1945 with housing," and the order of the administrative heads of the Krasnodar Region. Over 1,096,200 rubles was allocated to each veteran from the federal budget.

Due to high housing costs in Novorossiysk (48,600 rubles per square meter on average), an additional 653,400 rubles will be allocated to each veteran of WWII from the local budget.

As of May 1, 2010, 21 veterans had purchased housing. One veteran was provided with well-furnished housing from the municipal fund under the social rent contract at the House of Veterans in the city of Novorossiysk.

As of May 1, 2010, 8,944 medals had been presented in Novorossiysk.

Gifts were purchased for the veterans with 800,000 rubles that had been allocated from non-budget funds.  An additional benefit of 25% in paying for housing and communal services has been given to 2,300 veterans.
