The football stadium will host the opening and closing ceremonies at the 27th World Summer Universiade 2013. The stadium has a total area of 66,500 square metres and has a capacity of 45,000 seats.
The Kazan football stadium, which is currently under construction, was included in the pending list on Russia's application for the 2018/2022 FIFA World Cup. Stadium specifications conform to the applicable FIFA requirements.
The stadium project includes a football field with natural grass (110x72 metres), TV studios, commentator booths and a fully equipped press centre with a capacity of 150 seats expandable to 200 seats.
The stadium will also include a sports complex for physically disabled people, a 3-4 star hotel with 100-120 rooms and an anti-doping centre.
