Komsomolskaya Pravda:. “Putin to report to State Duma today”

On his entire term as Prime Minister.

On his entire term as Prime Minister.

On Wednesday Vladimir Putin is to report to the State Duma on the Government’s performance. According to the Prime Minister’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the report “will present a detailed assessment of the Government’s activities, an evaluation of the situation in the Russian economy and in the social sector, and will present the key targets for future priority measures.” But since this is Putin’s last report as Prime Minister, an overview of the performance of the Cabinet over the past four years will be made.

The report is due to last for about an hour. Each parliamentary group can ask the Prime Minister three questions. The report will not contain any mention of the staffing issue – the composition of the new government.

Peskov also said that Putin and Medvedev were continuing consultations on the new cabinet. When asked about the date the new government will be announced, Peskov noted, “for the new government to appear, there has to be a new President – he is the one who appoints the new government, as put forward by the Prime Minister.”

That means in May after the inauguration.
