Kommersant: "Central Electoral Commission reports on Vladimir Putin’s income"

Yesterday a report on presidential candidate Vladimir Putin’s income was published on the website of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

Yesterday a report on presidential candidate Vladimir Putin's income was published on the website of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC). The figures relate to the income for the four years preceding the election year for both Vladimir Putin and his wife Lyudmila Putin. In the last four years Mr Putin earned 17,734,755 roubles (this includes his salary, allowances from the government executive authorities and the presidential administration, interest earned on savings, income from shares and his military pension). Mrs Putin earned 146,783 roubles from interest on her savings. Vladimir Putin also owns a land plot in the Moscow Region (1,500 square metres), and a flat (77.7 square metres) and a garage (12 square metres) in St Petersburg. In addition, Mr Putin owns several vehicles, including a GAZ M-21 (1960 edition), a GAZ M-21R (1965), a Lada-21214 (2009) and a Skif car trailer (1987). The statement does not include any mention of his wife's ownership of vehicles, land plots, flats or garages. However, the Putins do have several bank accounts in operation: Vladimir Putin has 10 bank accounts with a total amount of 5,722,551.7 roubles and Lyudmila has four accounts containing 8,352,108.1 roubles. Vladimir Putin also owns 230 shares in Bank St Petersburg, giving him a 0.0000596% share and has unlimited use of an official flat in Moscow (153.7 square metres) and an official garage (18 square metres) in St Petersburg. According to the CEC, in 2004 Vladimir Putin's total income for the four preceding years came to 7.8 million roubles (in 1998-1999 he received 265,699 roubles). At the time of the second presidential campaign Mr Putin owned the same property as he does today, but in 2003 the Putins did not own a single car. Moreover Vladimir Putin's share of Bank St Petersburg went down from 0.00025% to 0.00015% between 1999 and 2004. During 1998-1999, presidential candidate Putin owned several properties: he had two land plots in the Leningrad Region with an overall area of 6,796,000 square metres and a dacha (152.9 square metres) in the same area. Mrs Putin owned 600 square metres of land in the Pskov Region. However, this property did not show up on the four-year statement on the income and property of the presidential candidates, either in 2004 or in 2011.
