The meeting on improving the efficiency of road construction and maintenance will be held in Tver. Government officials will confirm the early completion of the federal targeted programme "Modernization of the Russian Transport System (2002-2010)" and the launch of the new programme "Development of the Russian Transport System (2010-2015)". The government views concession agreements and so-called life-cycle contracts, in which the contractor is responsible for both the construction and the maintenance of the road, as promising avenues for road construction.
