Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will head the supervisory board of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Organising Committee. The board includes 38 members, among them Igor Shuvalov, Arkady Dvorkovich, Alexander Abramov, Alexander Bortnikov, Sergei Lavrov, Alexei Kudrin, Sergei Sobyanin, Boris Gromov, Valentina Matviyenko and Rustam Minnikhanov. The supervisory board will monitor world cup projects and consult the organisers. It will also draft a strategy to plan Russia's preparations for the championship.
