The Republic will receive 43 billion roubles between now and 2016.
Vladimir Putin arrived in Magas yesterday, greeted by the presidential envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin, the Minister of Regional Development Viktor Basargin and the Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov.
"The Republic will get more than 43 billion roubles under the Federal Targeted Programme Southern Russia and the Programme of Social and Economic Development of Ingushetia through 2016," Putin said during the meeting. "In 2010, it will be a small figure, intended just to create the basis for work in all the areas, the amount will be over 2 billion roubles. In 2011, the sum will be 7 billion and beginning from 2012 it will come in equal parts every year, 12.7 billion roubles."
The prime minister reminded those present that "March 14th saw the 240th anniversary of Ingushetia's voluntarily accession to Russia. This is an important milestone and we should do everything to make people recognise it."
Putin also unveiled another plan:
"President Yunus-bek Yevkurov has raised the issue of building some sports facilities. That is a reasonable request... the Republic's authorities are also planning to build a mosque in Magas. I think we should see that this is done. The republic needs its own religious centre."
A call to Vladikavkaz
Taimuraz MAMSUROV, president of North Ossetia: "We did not discuss Vancouver, why fray each other's nerves?"
Putin left Ingushetia for North Ossetia. We called Taimuraz Mamsurov, the head of North Ossetia, immediately after the prime minister's departure from North Ossetia.
Q.: What did you talk about with Putin?
A.: I said that we have reduced unemployment in the republic from 4 to 3.7% in 2009. In 2010, we have been given over 400 million for this purpose. We have not allowed things to slip in any area: housing, living standards, wages...
Q.: You are a sporting republic; did you by any chance discuss the Olympic Games with Putin?
A.: No, we did not discuss Vancouver... Why fray each other's nerves?
Q.: Understood. What advice did Putin give you regarding your neighbours from South Ossetia?
A.: The prime minister advised us to take into account the new reality, the fact that it is an independent state. At the same time, he asked us not to forget that we are blood brothers, Ossetians.

The heroic death of 6th Airborne Company
"I think it is my duty to recall the heroic exploit of the 6th Company of the Pskov Airborne Division," Putin said during the meeting in Ingushetia. "It was exactly ten years ago since our soldiers fought an uneven battle near the village of Ulus-Kert in the Chechen Republic... Casualties in the fight against terror have been huge, but the sacrifice has not been in vain. There are still many security problems in the North Caucasus region. But the situation is different than it was ten years ago."
KP background
On March 1, 2000, the Pskov paratroopers, holding a hill near the village of Ulus-Kert, brought artillery fire on themselves. They managed to hold off more than 2,500 militants.
There were only six survivors in the company, 84 soldiers died.
