Dmitry Medvedev and Vladimir Putin watched a live football match from a Sochi café.
After a meeting, Mr Medvedev and Mr Putin took a walk down the Sochi embankment to a café, where they watched a live football match between the Russian national football team and the Argentinean national team.
Mr Putin arrived earlier than Mr Medvedev. Incidentally, the President drove his own car. After exchanging warm greetings, the two leaders of the country had a walk along the embankment discussing current issues.
The President and the Prime Minster greeted Sochi residents and visitors. Many passers-by did not realise who was walking beside them, and one of the women even thought that the two leaders were Medvedev and Putin look-alikes.
"No, we are not look-alikes, but the real thing," replied the President with a smile.
Later Mr Medvedev and Mr Putin arrived at a sports café. The live football match between the Russian national team and the Argentinean national team had already begun, and the Russian team was losing 1-3. The President and the Prime Minister sat down at a table and watched the match with the other fans. Mr Medvedev was upset by the fact that the Russian team had played better in the first half and even scored. The President did not hide his emotions, and encouraged other café patrons in their support of the Russian team.
After a few minutes the Russian team scored one more goal, but nevertheless the Russian team lost. The President, the Prime Minister, and the other supporters agreed that it was not bad to lose to the strong Argentinean team by only 2-3. After being photographed with café patrons, Mr Medvedev and Mr Putin walked to their cars. After saying goodbye to Sochi residents and visitors, the President and the Prime Minster got into their cars. Again, the President drove his own car.
