Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has signed an executive order fixing the size of bonuses to Russian athletes who win prizes in Olympic disciplines at various championships and to their coaches.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has signed an executive order fixing the size of bonuses to Russian athletes who win prizes in Olympic disciplines at various championships and to their coaches.

The bonuses in rouble equivalents to prize winners in world championships will be as follows: $7,000 for a gold medal, $3,500 for silver and $2,100 for bronze.
In European championships gold will earn $3,500, silver $1,750 and bronze $1,050.

The total sum of bonuses to coaches and the teams that prepare the athletes is $3,350 for gold, $1,650 for silver and $1,000 for bronze in world championships and $1,500 for gold, $750 for silver and $450 in European championships.
The Ministry of Sport and Tourism jointly with the Russian Olympic Committee are to adopt the procedure of issuing bonuses to coaches and other sports professionals.
