Komsomolskaya Pravda: “Astrologers predict: terrorists will blow up New York, and Russia will unite with Ukraine”

"The world will face a global financial crisis when the 44th president comes to office (George W. Bush is the 43rd), and the crisis will reach its peak in 2012, first in the US, and then in Europe." These forecasts by astrologer Pavel Globa were made several years ago (see Komsomolskaya Pravda, September 14, 2001, December 20, 2007, at www.kp.ru). But no one listened to his discouraging stories. The idea of America's collapse and the prediction that it would be ranked 20th not first, seemed seditious. But it turned out that the stars were right. So what do they say about today's world?

Ancient and modern prophets forecast our future for 2009

Astrologer Pavel Globa:

"The 46th US President will save his country."

"Dmitry Medvedev will stay in office for eight years. Russia will come out of the crisis in 2010 with only some local difficulties. In the winter of 2009, the economic leaders in the Government, including Alexei Kudrin, will be dismissed, and the banking system will collapse. But Russia will be hurt less than the US or the European Union; the latter is under threat of dissolving. By 2020, there will be several European unions, for example, the South European, North European and East European blocs, the latter will comprise Ukraine, Belarus and Russia. The US 46th President, who will become the country's national hero and the founder of a new American state, will save the country."

What are the opinions of the finalists of the popular TNT show "The Battle of Paranormalists?"

Alexei Fad:

"In the second half of the year, terrorists will manage to get a nuclear weapon. They will blow up a large American city, which will be completely destroyed. The things I see concern, primarily, New York, but Los Angeles, Detroit and Chicago may be under threat, too. After this, the US will begin a war with the Arab world. Actually, it may become the Third World War, but it will develop locally. And, fortunately, it will not affect Russia, which will face increasing inflation and a decrease in industrial production. These will be smooth problems, without serious shock."

Natalya Vorotnikova:

"The financial crisis in Russia will last through 2010, but I do not see any tragic events in this respect."

Aza Petrenko:

"The dollar will grow, while the euro will drop. America will collapse in any case."

Tursunoi Zakirova:

"I had a prophetic dream: Medvedev and Putin's strong coalition will help Russia recover quickly, and in two to three years, it will be the centre of the world economy."

Yekaterina Akhmetzhanova:

"In 2009, there will be four large tragedies connected with planes, somewhere in America. And I see some problems with a satellite."

A quick prediction

Where will the dollar be valued on March 1, 2009?

Sergei Lysenko, finalist of the first Russian Meeting of X-Ray People, organised by Komsomolskaya Pravda in 2004:

"The dollar will cost about three roubles. Therefore, it is better to invest in gold bullion."

Mikhail Filonenko, finalist on the 5th season of "The Battle of Paranormalists" show:

"15-20 roubles, while a barrel of oil will cost $120-170."

Aza Petrenko, finalist on the fourth season of "The Battle of Paranormalists" show:

"30 roubles."

Astrologer Pavel Globa:

"32 roubles"

Maria Duval, French clairvoyant:

"Dollars will cost nothing."

Russia will see a Golden Age

Vanga:

"The world will face much distress, there will be hard times. People will be divided by faith. Their world view will change after a 2009 catastrophe...Everything will melt away like ice, yet the glory of Vladimir is the only thing that will remain, for a long 12 years."

By the way, after the presidential term was extended to six years, many political scientists agree with the blind prophet.

St Basil the Blessed:

"And, when catastrophic wars that will turn everything in countries to dust and ashes, come to an end, in the year 7517 (2009, by today's calendar), the great blessed King will ascend to the throne, and will rule for a long time, and our Rus (Russia) will see its Golden Age."

A key question

To believe or not to believe?

The last few years, Komsomolskaya Pravda has been testing the accuracy of the predictions made by astrologers, clairvoyants, and futurologists by comparing them with facts. All the predictions analysed were about 50% accurate, which does not contradict probability theory. Apparently making predictions is as accurate as flipping a coin. Also, the review showed that most astrologers, as a rule, make their predictions in accordance with their political views.

As for ancient prophets, their predictions are difficult to interpret. So we should not worry but try to believe in a better future.

Komsomolskaya Pravda will check the accuracy of the astrologers' predictions. On March 5, 2009, we will let you know who was right.
