Vladimir Putin: Good afternoon,
We have met here to discuss the issues pertaining to the development of the Siberian Federal District, that is, what has been done today and what we should do in the near future.
You know what happened in Moscow - a heinous crime has been committed there. Dozens of people have been killed. Therefore, now, at the beginning of our meeting I'd like to ask you to stand and honour the memory of the people who perished in this act of terror with a minute of silence. Thank you.
I'd like to emphasize that this act of terror compels us to think about terror-related problems and the need to display vigilance and solidarity in our efforts to counter this evil.
In this context I'd like to address Siberian and every other leader in the Russian Federation. I'd like to ask you to give your full cooperation to law-enforcement bodies in the struggle against crime and its extreme manifestations, such as terror. Only by pooling our efforts we will be able to rout these thugs and everything related to such an ugly and terrible phenomenon as terrorism. I'm sure that we will achieve this goal with a concerted effort.
