Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko
Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko reported to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on the results of the recent meeting of the Russian-Iranian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Tehran.
Mr Shmatko told Mr Putin about his visit to the Bushehr nuclear power station with Ali Akbar Salehi, the new director of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation. During the visit, Mr Shmatko inspected the progress of construction and commended the Iranians for the efficient pace at which they are carrying out the final stages of construction.
Mr Shmatko also explained the positions the Russian delegation would take at the upcoming session of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum in Qatar, including the position on electing a general secretary for the forum.
